I’m driving a 26 foot Penske truck through Midtown, getting yelled at, and I get to the drop-off and the guy tells me he’s not gonna let me unload it.

It’s not gonna happen, bro.
So I slip him a hundred bucks. And he lets me unload it.
Our first sale was on eBay. Our first photoshoot was in our own front yard.

We’ve come a long way from those humble beginnings. We always had our eyes set on something bigger, something global.

Ten years later, we’re still scouring the world for the best materials, the most skilled makers, and unique inspirations.

We’re crafters.

We’re travelers.

We’re storytellers.

We operate through the lens of five distinct tenets.

01. A Story In Every Piece

A stranger at a hotel bar. A spontaneous trip to Italy. A friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend. No matter what, every single IW piece & project comes with a tale or two—separating us from the standard boxed-in DTC narrative.

02. Connecting A Global Community

Whether in a classroom in Kansas, a clubhouse in Berlin, or a pied-à-terre in New York, IW knows no boundaries—and is committed to bringing its eclectic, global-minded work to everyone, everywhere.

03. Quality, Always

Quality relationships. Quality materials. Our global approach to sourcing means we can find the absolute best materials—and the absolute best people—to create with them.

04. Furnishing The Future

Furniture brings people to places and places to people. Every month we donate IW furniture to spaces that need them—and do everything we can to share their story in the process.

05. Transparency In Our Process

From mood boards to delivery, we’re proud of our process. We strive to pull back the curtain on everything we do, giving everyone insight into the “why” and “how” of all-things IW.
